Who we are

Ascent Sports Group is a newly formed technology and media platform focused on improving connection, engagement and access across youth and amateur sports. The company was established through a partnership between GTCR, a leading private equity firm, and Gary Swidler, an experienced consumer technology executive.

Mr. Swidler serves as Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Sports Group and brings deep experience building and scaling consumer-focused technology platforms. He previously served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of Match Group, where he helped expand the company globally and scale a portfolio of technology products used by millions of consumers.

Youth and amateur sports represent a large, fragmented ecosystem in which athletes, families, coaches, teams, leagues and venue owners often rely on multiple, disconnected tools to participate, follow, and engage with their sports communities. Ascent Sports Group focuses on investing in and building businesses that improve these experiences and create more connected, intuitive platforms.
